No over reach. Back when 2 or 3 skinny spoke steering wheels were the rage, lots of people were impaled through the chest by the steering column in a head on collision that they might have otherwise survived. Early collapsing steering columns were just a nested tube and a plastic retaining device that allowed about a foot of travel.

I saw a video somewhere of a crash test of a car towing a trailer, where the tongue of the trailer penetrated the back of the car for it's full length. Which put the trailer hitch right in the back seat.

Maybe steering tillers will make a comeback.

Some cars adapted for disabled drivers have the steering wheel replaced with a tiller, yet it's more usual in Europe than anywhere else. Most likely, one aspect which may render steering tillers unlikely to make a comeback is certification and driver licensing, such as in Uruguay where Chinese motor tricycles had the option for either a car-like cockpit with a steering wheel or a motorcycle-like handlebar, otherwise being technically identical yet requiring either a car license or a motorcycle license according to the steering interface. Single front wheel you say? Darryl Starbird's 1963 Futurista show car had tiller steering, a single front wheel and a VW Type III motor.

Would it require a motorcycle license or a car license? I guess a similar project, if done in Brazil, would require a motorcycle license because of the way that tiller reminds me of a motorcycle handlebar.

I guess this might be the closest to a steering tiller which is still in use. Quite half-assed to say the least, but still not so scary than some RHD conversions which resort to pulleys and a belt...

I have filled up 7 times in the 3 months since I last logged, totaling 3,462.6 miles, and I am on empty yet again with 418 miles.

If you figure that I drove 3,800 miles in 3 months, rounding up a little for forgetting to reset the trip meter after each fill-up, I am averaging 1,266.67 miles per month, and 15,200 miles a year.

I start doing clinicals in 3 months and, while they tell us that our sites can be up to an hour away, my first location will be 7.2 miles from here, but if I do that 3 times a week, that will add 43.2 miles weekly, and since I will need to log more hours each week, and I will probably have more sites further away than closer, the average will probably climb up from 1,439.47 monthly.

I didn't realize how much I am driving!

I paid $4,200 for my car on 09-20-2022, $24.18 for a gas cap, $126 for spark plugs, treatment, and other maintenance items, $587.64 for tires, $14.13 for a valve cover gasket, $25.74 for ignition coil connectors, and I don't know how much for a replacement gasket and hose destroyed by the oil leak.

I found a place shipping the gasket for $47, but I don't even know which hose it was.

That place charged $18 to ship.

Maybe I bought it locally for a comparable price (before shipping) and the hose cost around $18.

I don't have any idea!

I will say $80 for both, so $4,200 for the car, $587.64 for tires, and $270.05 for repairs and maintenance.

I reported that Walmart "charge[s] $1.08 more than a jug of oil and filter would cost."

I paid them to do it when I first bought the car and then did it myself to flush out the 2002 Civic. It currently costs $24.88, so two oil changes cost me $48.68.

My log indicates that I spent $572.98 to drive 5,788.5 miles.
One does not simply estimate fuel costs for 90 days by using the average of the previous 270 days, but I haven't accomplished anything today, I am not catching up on fuel logs!

Just to have a number, let's say that I spent $299.83 on gas in the last 3 months, understanding there is a low confidence threshold.

Therefore, aside from insurance, which would be shared with other cars and my rentals, I have spent $5,979 to drive my car.

My odometer says 116,002 miles and Big Two reported 104,247, so I have driven 11,755 miles in 355 days

Just in case I decide to refer to this when I catch up, I drove 756.4, 499, 325.5, 251.6, 396.6, 448.6, 410.3, and 374.6 miles per fill-ups.

Obviously, the first one was one full tank and a partial.

The 251.6 miles must have been right before driving back to Show Low, but when I lived up there, my fill-ups were usually around 500 miles, while now they are usually around 400.

I used to see clients 45-60 minutes away, drive here, and run errands in-town, but I guess on average it was mostly highway driving.

I kind of removed a little bit of the scuffs--with an art gum eraser! :D

I was right, freebeard mentioned the scuff, but I thought that he said how to remove it, not just to put a sticker on it.

A couple weeks back, Mom said "You know that you can remove that scuff with an art gum eraser."
The top-left streak is before, the middle one is after I used an entire art gum eraser, and then the third one is after I tried the kneadable eraser.

My car had several scuffs, but this is the biggest, and they responded differently to the eraser.

Curiously, she meant a kneadable eraser, which you can clearly see... just removed the eraser crumbs and tried to roll apart.

I think that some small scuffs did come off.

One YouTube detailer said to use acetone and a rag--but everything I read says that acetone damages paint and clear coat.
ChrisFix says to use WD40 and a magic eraser, maybe detailer and clay bar, wipe it clean, and then wax on, and wax off:
Tub O'Towels says to use toothpaste on a rag.
I tried non-whitening toothpaste because I need to use clear coat on my headlights after I restore them with toothpaste.

I still need to restore those, but I am in grad school! I don't have the time for this!
I just thought I could spare a moment to buy and use an eraser!
