Useless information to you guys, but: Fuel prices close to where i live
95e10 1.29€/litre
98e5 1.35€/litre
DieselB7 1.19€/litre

These are cheaper prices than usual. Not too long ago 95e10 was close to 1.60€/litre.

Sorry, I have no love for the fracking industry. It couldn't be regulated and done relatively safely but as of today it is not.

Even corn ethanol has a positive EREI which means it is actually a renewable fuel. Cars run fine on it and some actually get better fuel economy on low blend ethanol fuels like E10. That depends on whether the engine can make adjustments to use the extra octane from the ethanol. The NHTSA credits for flex-fuel vehicle were incredible stupid because they allowed automakers to take credit of vehicle that were not optimized for E85. Most E85 vehicles are low compression trucks and SUVs because those are the vehicle where manufacturers needed fuel economy credits. E85 runs best in turbocharged engines that can effectively change compression ratio based on ethanol content.

If you remove the ethanol you still won't have pure gas because a oxygenate is still required. MTBE has been banned so now we have ETBE (ethanol mixed with isobutylene)

114,100 BTU/gal Gasoline (regular unleaded)
112,000 BTU/gal Gasoline (10% MBTE)
111,836 BTU/gal Gasoline (E10)
111,811 BTU/gal Gasoline (reformulated gasoline, ETBE)

No 5% bump there.

The backlash against ethanol is mostly politics not science based. It is Big Ag vs Big Petroleum.

On an individual - level lots of people have had poor experiences with small engines. That is mostly a combination of engine manufacturers being too cheap to make their produce E10 compatible until they were forced to do so and poor maintenance by users. Let mower or line trimmer sit over the winter full of fuel and in spring you will have a gummed up carb. Drain the fuel before storage as recommended and the mower will fire right up come spring.

Wait, they still sell Gasoline? Well that’s cool. J.K.

$0.87 is the lowest I’ve seen in the last few months. Probably cheaper to run a Prius on that than drive my Tesla on purchased electricity.

Gas Buddy says prices rose for the first time in ten weeks: https://www.gasbuddy.com/go/gas-pric...rt-may-4-2020/

It looks like gas is still slightly cheaper here than the last time that I checked, but I am continuing teletherapy for as long as possible. I only have one week left of school. Progress reports are due one week later, but I should be able to knock those out the two days that I see kids.

I just need to write progress reports while waiting for families to connect (some never do) instead of looking at cat pictures and arguing with strangers.

So... three days of pay while I work on projects, but then I am going to have all summer with just six clients.

The cheapest E0 fuel near me in NSW is 92.9 c/litre. I've filled up twice at that price.
Now that local isolation restrictions are slowly being eased in NSW and there are more cars using fuel, most other petrol station prices have jumped by 25 c/litre in the last couple of days.

We have been driving the van lately because I don't want to use the TDI for 2 mile trips. OReGO (Oregon's fee per mile system) tells me I drove 55.3 miles and consumed 3.83 gallons of gas in the month of April.

That makes the price of gas irrelevant but it is $2.25 a gallon today at Costco.

I filled up here in Russellville, KY yesterday. 87 octane E/10 is running $1.359 and is where the price has been for the last few weeks. One station in town is selling diesel at $1.899 while everyone else in the area is $2.199+. Last time I filled up my Versa was $1.359 per gallon on 4/19/2020, 495.8 miles, 9.791 gallons for 50.628MPG. Total cost for the fill up was $13.70. Gas in the Versa is costing me less per mile that I was paying per mile when I bought my first car a Buick Regal in 1977. I'm also benefiting from lower diesel prices. I have a Monitor kerosene heater that we use to heat our house. A few years ago I decided to try diesel fuel in it and started using diesel in it instead of kerosene with no ill effects The price is usually $ .50-$1.00 lower per gallon and there are more BTU's in diesel than in kerosene so it's a win, win.

No appreciable difference between kerosene and diesel1, d2 is just more viscous and has additives
