I like gravity rail storage, There are motor losses each way so the efficiency round trip should be 80-90%.

It depends. The demonstrator is a re-purposed freight line in Nevada with IIRC a 6% grade. Any location with a big elevation change, like Oregon City, OR, could install a narrow-gauge rack railroad or possibly a cable car system.

One complication is the hot rail. Supposedly better than pumped hydraulic storage.

The nice thing about molten salts is passing the phase change temperature each way.

I hear it is relatively cheap, and it is quite efficient. Any weight that changes height would work. Pumped hydro is similar - these can be underground to surface.

Back to the original post, regarding a consensus among scientists. I stumbled on this recently: https://thebestschools.org/special/k...per-interview/

And if you have more time, the full Focused Civil Dialog on Global Warming which puts two well qualified people together to present their side of an argument, in this case, Global Warming, to hopefully give people an objective basis for forming opinions.

I believe Happer is well respected in his field and brings some well reasoned arguments against anthropogenic global warming being significantly harmful; backed by actual data. While not as large of a group nor as vocal, there are scientists who speak out against the consensus.

The only scientists that speak out against it are the ones not employed in a field that tows the party line or that will ever seek employment in such a field.
Good old agenda driven science.

So true. Alternatively, Patreon is a great equalizer. Youtuber AvE makes the point that people funded him getting the Dyson $700 hair dryer so he can take it apart and analyze every component. Then his 579,828 subscribers gain mass-multiplied knowledge and become fascinated with the Dyson V-7 motor. The episode BOLTR: Dyson V9 Motor. ALIEN TECHNOLOGY CONFIRMED? has 1,119,160 views over 10 months. Divide that by 700.

An example of scientific anarchism might be Suspicious 0bservers. Here's how Ben Davidson falsifies Anthropogenic Warmongering:

The three-body gravity problem masks the 9, 72, and 230 cycles in Earth temperature. Plus the Earthquakes.

I just find people who tell me I am wrong.

You know, I once read about some kind of professor that found people kind enough to crowd-fund a trip to the wind tunnel.

I had to pay my own way to the wind tunnel, and I did it without a prison cell in my pocket. In a car that didn't drive itself.
