Blades of grass are reproduced on planet Earth in vast quantities due to the universal adequacy of Sun and other star photosynthetic impoundment. Daisies, peanuts, glowworms, etc. are reproduced in direct complement to their design complexity, which involves biological and eternal environmental interplay of chemical element simplexes and compounds under a complex of energy, heat, and pressure conditions critical to the complex of chemical associating and disassociating involved. Humans have thus far evolved the industrial complex designing which is only of kindergarten magnitude compared to the complexity of the biological success of our planet Earth. The US Air Force did research at Hanscom (in the 1950's?) on greenhouse gases, when they worked on heat seeking missiles.

This is basic chemistry and spectroscopy. It is used in astrophysics, and many other areas of scientific study.

That's a material property, we know CO2 warms the atmosphere, with out any CO2 it the mean temperature at the equator might not be much above freezing

It seems the industry is underestimating the difficulty of manufacturing batteries in volume. If they adequately estimate the difficulty, then there should be no shortages.

Everything produced has a component / step that limits production, and it doesn't surprise me that the most costly component is the production bottleneck.

You can't will products into existence just by deciding to do it. Or having a demand for it. There are vast physical constraints involved with battery production long before we ever get near to a grid scale storage solution. We will see cornucopian supply/ demand models springing leaks on many key resources in the next couple decades.
