Is there an echo in here?

It sounds like The Green New Deal, but it's so simplistic I can't discern whether those columns are Ionic, Doric or Corinthian. As an alternative I suggest Synergetics.

Quote:
Synergetics
Fuller
Synergetics is the empirical study of systems in transformation, with an emphasis on total system behavior unpredicted by the behavior of any isolated components, including humanity's role as both participant and observer.
There is lots more at More at Wikipedia
Use Nature's system of coordinates and encompass all of humankind's thinking.

Quote:
“I live on Earth at present, and I don’t know what I am. I know that I am not a category. I am not a thing — a noun. I seem to be a verb, an evolutionary process – an integral function of the universe.”
― R. Buckminster Fuller
Take that, you intersectional Marxists.

Quote:
“Never forget that you are one of a kind. Never forget that if there weren't any need for you in all your uniqueness to be on this earth, you wouldn't be here in the first place. And never forget, no matter how overwhelming life's challenges and problems seem to be, that one person can make a difference in the world. In fact, it is always because of one person that all the changes that matter in the world come about. So be that one person. ”
― R. Buckminster Fuller
Paraphrasing Tim Pool, the snowflake doesn't think it caused the avalanche.

Quote:
“It is essential that anyone reading this book know at the outset that the author is apolitical. I was convinced in 1927 that humanity's most fundamental survival problems could never be solved by politics.”
― Richard Buckminster Fuller, Grunch of Giants
Quote:
“Geniuses are just people who had good mothers.”
― Buckminster Fuller

Be the trim tab. Learn, think, talk. Cornucopian access to non renewable resources and energy is coming to an end. We can either find a new way to cooperate and share what we are left with and be happy with enough, or look forward to world resource war III.

Fossil fuels for me, but not for thee. Inside each country.

Besides, renewables CANNOT do the job of replacement.

1 energy poverty and all around poverty, note: food will likely be included in "materials".
2 the United States already has a stabile population, unchecked illegal immigration and anchor babies is the primary thing growing the population right now.
3 redistribution of wealth.
4 redistribution of wealth.
5 millions of people killed.
6 secure government jobs.
7 centrally planned economy.

You should really watch the lecture if you want to discuss it intelligently. Instead of just picking at the screen shot I posted in order to draw attention to the lecture.

real discussions

But do both briefly allude to it as below. Which I would argue are at least as pressing. It's also interesting to see how they are debating each other when they both seem to mostly accept the same basic premises. As I have experienced here.

"The primary reason for this headlong fling toward disaster is that our economic system is based on perpetual growth—on the need to consume the earth at an ever-increasing rate. Our world is dominated by transnational corporations, which now account for sixty-nine of the world’s largest hundred economies. The value of these corporations is based on investors’ expectations for their continued growth, which they are driven to achieve at any cost, including the future welfare of humanity and the living earth.

It’s a gigantic Ponzi scheme that barely gets a mention because the corporations also own the mainstream media, along with most governments. The real discussions we need about humanity’s future don’t make it to the table. Even a policy goal as ambitious as the Green New Deal—rejected by most mainstream pundits as utterly unrealistic—would still be insufficient to turn things around, because it doesn’t acknowledge the need to transition our economy away from its reliance on endless growth."

The discussions we'd need to have, are exactly the ones we've been asked not to approach,so at least here at EcoModder,we'd be at a perpetual impasse.

Denial and clinging to an outdated social model won't help anything. A reduction in total energy access will not be the only bottleneck we must move through. Although it is the proximate driver of everything we rely on. There are many other essential minerals and elements that are approaching peak such as Phosphorous which will push food production volumes and yields back closer to the pre Green Revolution totals and methods of the 50's where we once again rely on organic soil maintenance and more of the work will come from human and animal effort worldwide.
.
We are facing down the biggest change that humans have ever had to navigate. The end of growth. And there is no planet B. Which requires a complete paradigm shift in the way we organize society. It will be immensely hard to wake everyone to agree to the changes that are required and refocus in order to get it done. But the alternative is to just let the market carry on mindlessly sloughing forward toward the quickest payback of our hijacked brain reward chemistry. Like yeast in a bottle of grape juice. Until the cork just pops and spews out whatever random bits are left
