Winco- "The Low Cost Price Leader". Exactly the kind of slogan that gets my attention. At least they give you something like a 5 cent credit for every bag you bring in. That probably more than offsets the cost of the bags I have to purchase now. I specifically bought trash cans that accommodate grocery bags and use them in bathrooms.

I don't use a bag in the garage trash (5 gallon bucket) or the bathroom. They just get dumped into the kitchen bag on trash day.

I have 2 small fold-able polyester shopping bags that are smaller than a wallet in my coat, always. I won't go shopping now for a week at least, but if I finally have to I'll throw them straight in the washing machine afterwards.

One of them is showing signs of wear but it has been used for at least 100 times. I used to do some shopping on most of my daily evening walks. That too has now ended unfortunately.

Made some out of $2 dollar sailcloth to fit the superbug frunk in 87. Replaced them just last year from same leftover fabric. Might be the last set we make.

I have several walmart branded bags in my trees. Can we fine walmart?

Hope you're joking, but we don't see the emoji to prove you were.

We should fine firearms manufacturers for people who improperly use them. We should fine automotive manufacturers for people that drive beyond safe limits and harm themselves. We should fine paper mills for paper cuts caused by their products.

This is exactly why we have plastic bags stuck in trees, because we give actual horrible people a pass and look for scapegoats to blame. It's a thinking disability some people have acquired.

Also for solar cycle 25, buy sun block, a hat and get used to long sleeve shirts in the summer.

If walmart stopped putting 3 items to a bag, used rapid bio degrading bags, and therefore lost 5 cents a sale, there would be no bags in my trees. Their wholesale philosophy is how cheap can we make a massive profit. I shun the place.

My hardware makes it difficult to do emoji and I'm not upgrading to the latest version of spyware.

The logic doesn't follow. Ladder manufacturers are only interested in making massive profits, and if they just spent more their ladders would be safer and fewer people would die from falls.

My point is that every business is only interested in profit at the end of the day; including non-profits. Saving 5 cents per sale is massive, and not doing so would give competitors a huge advantage. The problem isn't the type of bag Walmart uses, it's that people are dirtbags and litter. We're dirtbags because we blame Walmart rather than doing the hard work of confronting dirtbags. Our rationalizing cretinous behavior makes us culpable and deserving of the trash pit we live in.

Maybe there's a case to be made for local laws requiring a certain type of bag that every business must use (equal playing field) because protection of the commons is the role of government. Profit is the role of business. If business does not attend to profit, they don't exist, we don't get our goods, and people have no jobs.
