The EMPI Imp construction details are available as measured drawings. It's only two wheel drive; but with an 80" wheelbase, Type II portal axles, a cutting brake and an hydraulic system it would make a passable tractor.

Edit: Here's a Type 181 clone in aluminum:

and as a bonus, here the VW Pingo from Uruguay:

It's a Jason Torchinsky post so we are back on topic.

By "cutting brake" you mean one that can be applied individually to each rear wheel in order to emulate a traction control? I do remember seeing that in some tractors, but for a road-legal ride I'd rather do something similar to what those Gurgel mini SUVs used, with two levers beside the parking brake, each connected to the parking brake cable of a rear wheel to provide selective braking and overcome slip.

Yes.

SINGLE HANDLE TURNING BRAKE, With Upright Handle, Dunebuggy & VW | eBay

Here's a single handle brake. Forward for right and back for left (or vice versa). The tractor I drove had individual left and right brakes and a toggle that you could flip over to gang them together.

I remember having seen this feature in some tractors too.
