Oh and PS - arranging travel insurance for our trip to Spain. I have a medical condition which I have to declare so usually this is an opportunity for insurance companies to raid my wallet.

However with some cool internet searching I managed to get a 12 month policy for all the family for 2/3 the price of a single trip deal I paid for last year - so we may finally get to Rome later this year for Mrs A's 50th.

Go google.

Speaking of insurance...
Since the Wife and I like to hike in the mountains, and since in some countries hikers are required to have special insurance, we decided to become members of an Austrian mountaineering club, the yearly membership of which includes insurance for hiking in any mountains up to 5000 meters elevation (this summer we may climb the 5033m Mount Kazbek). This membership isn't cheap (60€/person), but we got a deal (~100€/family), and we've saved at least 30€ so far on discounts in mountain refuges, not to mention how much we've saved on not buying insurance for each trip.

This is more of a guffaw than a smile...

Paraphrasing from our local newspaper, using the terms used in the article:
Quote:
Keen-eyed Wal-Mart employees are being credited with assisting county sheriff's deputies with arresting an out-of-county couple after the duo was seen allegedly absconding with two carts worth of televisions, Blu-Ray players and speakers.
Thank goodness for the incredible observational skills of these highly talented Wal-Mart employees! Clearly anyone with lesser talent would have completely missed the couple walking out with two carts full of unpaid merchandise!

If it weren't for the kids, we wouldn't consume half as much wine...
