I guess you will need to rephrase your question because I'm not getting your point.

You said this charging station wouldn't be powered by renewable energy unless we have a lot of hydro. We have a LOT of hydro.

The "Electric Island" is on Plug Share.

4 CHAdeMO, 7 CCS plugs. From the pictures they are all different brands. First review says they are free.

I said the charging stations woud be powered by hydroelectric in places that had it.
Are these things only going to be used there?
What about the rest of the United States where there isn't an abundance of hydroelectric?

I thought you were specifically talking about this station. This is the first station in the West Coast Clean Transit Corridor. The goal is the install 27 charging stations designed for HD vehicles along I-5 from San Diego to Vancouver, BC spaced roughly 50 miles apart.

Nothing in the goal says they will be only provided by hydro or geothermal or even renewable electricity in general. However, all 3 states along I-5 have cleaner energy than average and have specific goals to continue transitioning to larger percentages of renewable energy. That is one of the good things about EVs - as the grid gets cleaner your car gets cleaner.
