I had all of that in mind when I designed mine. I use this car as my daily driver, so whatever aeromods I install on my car have to withstand all of the perils of year around driving, be it snow, traffic, washboard dirt roads, etc. It has held up to 3 years and over 100,000 miles of driving so far. I built my boattail ruggedly, so it is a part of my car's rear crush space, and it saved my car from being totalled when I got rear ended over a year ago.

Does anyone know the source of these tail lights?

I like the large size, square shape, and that they have back up lights built in.

Or how about some other lights that are similar in shape and size?

Also noticed that the license plate light is similar to Basjoos. Where are these from?

Thanks, Jim.

I believe that they are early 80's Ford Pickup lights. You might show your picture to a ford expert.

Whose is that DIY streamliner, and where can I read more about it?

Another car with nice tail lights is the last-gen Tercel.

Those tail lights look like the generic "jeep" tail lights. You can get them at most auto parts stores, maybe even walmart, JCWhitney, Harbor Frieght, etc... They aren't flush mount, just a box that bolts on, but looks like they flush mounted them in this application.

You can also shop for DOT approved LED aftermarket lights.
If you are going to go through all that work, you might as well spend a few dollars more and make it look nice.

Thanks, Cd. Here's a link to page 26, where AndrewJ starts talking about his boattail. His construction method is interesting, and the plywood transom looks easy to work with.

I really like those Tercel rear light packages. One can easily envision how these could be installed at the outer edges of a boattail truncation plane of say 3.5 feet width and 10 inch height.

Thread seems to slowed somewhat. Does this mean that someone is off fabricating. I'm gettin the itch myself, but weather still a bit cold outside and garage full of other projects ;-)

This last weekend, I noticed the tail lights from a Crown Victoria are a nice large sized package.

A trip to the junk yard is in order pretty soon.

Jim.
