Are you talking about a power steering system Darin? Because the pump setup Francis is installing is a water pump system.

I saw the correct words, but my brain thought otherwise. Thanks for the correction!

EDIT : Wheel covers are prone to snake molt.

Awesome thread! I'm taking some inspiration from you guys and making smooth wheel covers from pizza pans for my Sentra tonight. Bought the pans/nuts/bolts today; all together comes out to about $18.50 from the big W. I'm also looking at making a similar windshield wiper deflector when election season rolls around here soon.

I'll post some pics and results when I'm finished.

A/C Components Removal

Hi modders! Today we have done something really cool, an A/C Delete
We have removed the A/C Radiator in front of the engine radiator, we have also removed the compressor and all the metal pipes and we have replaced the serpentine belt by a shorter one. Note that this is part of our belt-less project.

Here is a diagram of the serpentine belt before the removal :

Here is the diagram of the serpentine belt after the removal :

All the crap that was removed from the engine bay :
(Compressor, Old Belt, A/C Radiator & the Metal Pipes)

Hardcore!

Or is it??

I've never had or used A/C in any of my cars (the Insight is the first that has it.) It's no problem without it if you are a healthy person in southern Canada (maybe 3-4 weeks a summer when it is truly warm/humid). It's nice - it's a luxury for sure, but it's not a necessity.

IMO, something useless that eat your fuel for no reason as to be removed, that was the case of the A/C, we were not using it.

Kudos to all your hard work guys!

However, I have a question re the ac.

My own ac is equipped with a magnetic clutch, the compressor is only running when that clutch is energised. Otherwise the pulley is spinning freely. Yours shoud have the same, otherwise youd be driving with the ac on all the time, with no way to switch it off.
I can't imagine the reward in mpg being very large from switched off to removed... Or am I missing something?
