I hope that I never have brake issues like that, I think that I would have needed to find a mechanic. Frank, for how long have you had a Metro? Why isn't it listed in your fleet?

I bought a beaded seat cover for my Accord. Later someone posted a picture of theirs and I realized that I installed mine wrong, mine only covers the back, and then hangs over behind the seat, but I only notice my back sweating, not my sitting-down-side.

Have you guys worn out any? I periodically notice mine splitting in two and think I should mend it with fishing line.

Do you guys put one in every car that you drive regularly or move it when you change cars?

I just realized that I do not have one in my Civic and I do not know why!

Mine hasn't busted yet, and it's pretty old ... 16 or 17 years, I think. I am mentally prepared for catastrophic failure. Beads everywhere!

I move it from car to car. And I really only tend to use it for 2 or 3 weeks a year when it gets hot & humid.

Summer's here. I installed my AC:

The MPGiata is coming out of storage today, on the road next week. I will not miss driving the Metro, aside from its easy-peasy 70 MPG at this time of year.
Back windows work fine, passenger front rolls up straight and easy but the last 3 inches going up it gets really difficult, so I don't use that one. The driver's side falls off the track, but I found if I hold it tight against the back of the track as I roll it will work if I'm careful. I can roll them all down from the driver's seat, so driving home I have the driver's front and both rears open.

I need one of those beaded covers but haven't been able to find one, and I'm terrible at ordering stuff online.

I haven't sat in one so I can't speak from experience, but aren't those beaded seat covers uncomfortable? From appearance they look like you're sitting on a bunch of wooden marbles.

If it keeps my back cooler, I'd be ok with that.

I'm now seriously looking at an 07 yaris with a 5-speed. Listed for 5k with 167k miles, looks to be in very good shape. NADA say 3800 for high retail, but All the 2007's I can find nearby are listed for 5k+, so may be an ok price.

It's fine. The foam in the seat deforms as usual under the beads, so there are no weird pressure points or anything. The air gap makes things much more comfy.

Ps. I got mine at a major auto parts store. AKA: Crappy Tire in the great white north.

I've looked at the parts stores in my town (there's only 2 of them) and no luck.

fun fact, even though you live in Canaderp, there's a decent chance you are actually further south than I am in North Dakota.

I bought this one two years ago. $17.75 and rated 3.7/5. All of the other ones Amazon showed me had similar prices and ratings. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This one is rated 4.3/5, but costs $60! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Walmart has a similar one for $12.88: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Auto-Driv...hion/138559663

Possible! I'm at latitude 44.59 N.

Extra fun fact: When I was a kid, I clearly remember the geography class where the teacher dropped the bombshell that the southernmost point in Ontario is further south than California's northern border.

Mind = BLOWN.
