$2,000 sounds expensive for a car that is nearly eligible for antique plates.

I am sure that it would get great fuel economy, but I have enough difficulty being able to read CEL codes. I would hate to try to diagnose problems based on... skill?

How many cars in the history of cars have only needed refrigerant topped off when the owner said so? My old roommate said that of his pickup. I told him that he has a leak, otherwise he would still have refrigerant, and if it only needed to be topped off, the seller would have done so.

This is too damn true. It's a huge red flag for myself when someone says something like that trying to sell a car.

Actually pretty annoying when people try to hide all flaws on USED, usually old cars. Like, i know all cars have issues, just gimme the list, please.

Heck I'd consider that if I needed a car and it were nearby.

I'd get one of those Yari.

Or the fuel-saving Ram. Tough call.

1999 Accord 2.3 in Show Low, Arizona with 209,000 miles for $34.59

Apparently one weirdo walked on it, leaving footprints, and another weirdo put Gorilla Tape across the front.

How do you remove Gorilla Tape?!

It has a fuel leak and the cruise control is out, but for the low low price of a set of spark plug wires, I can drive this!

2000 Corolla with a 194,000 miles and five speeds in the middle of nowhere, Arizona for $1,600

It is a town called Queen Valley. If I drive the way that I really don't like driving it is only 2.4 hours away.

I messaged the owner two days ago and I just heard back:

Quote:
Runs great no issues beside small cosmetic.
Cold ac.
Bought a pickup
I asked why he was selling it.

https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/6982646969.html

I heard back from an HX owner who just said there was a CEL for an oxygen sensor. I asked which one and he did not reply.

Is this that peer pressure that is so problematic in junior highs nowadays?

What is the best way to say this? "Anyone who only complains without presenting solutions is a doo-doo head."

Problems:
1. I presented it weirdly, but I got my Accord running again! I tested the basic stuff and everything looked good. I was testing random stuff and apparently caused the problems that I mentioned, but swapped in a part off of the Civic, and the misfires went away.
2. Did you see how my Accord is parked sideways in front of two other cars? One is my Civic and the other is my rental. If I got the Corolla I would need to park the same way--ideally without hitting the retaining wall like I did with my rental. Wish me luck!
3. I work two jobs Monday through Wednesday. I might be able to drive out early Thursday morning, if the car and owner are available.
4. If I decide to buy the car, how do I get it back? The nearest Enterprise is nearly forty minutes away, I ask the owner to meet me there?

That sounds like a great deal of work for a car only rated 34 highway, but I get 34 MPG in my Accord, and it is rated 27 highway, so I should be able to maintain 40 easily?

Also, it has a timing chain. I replaced the belt myself in the Accord and it actually works! How much is it worth not needing to do that?

Then there is the fact that the there is a Toyota dealership 2.4 miles away, but the nearest Honda dealership is 134 miles away.
