The earliest Leafs should still have battery warranty remaining, right? A Leaf with a worn out battery might be a good buy if you can get it replaced under warranty.

Pretty sure the Prism along with the Metro were both sold as gliders to different EV companies who installed the electric motors and gear.
The Prism as shown in the picture had Hughes components and was called the Electricar and IIRC the Metro was called the Solectria Force.
Another Prism.

Prices for older Leafs are starting to drop in the San Francisco Bay area. The link below goes to non-dealer owners.

https://sacramento.craigslist.org/se...nissan+leaf%22

There are at least half a dozen listed under $5000 and a couple below $4000.

Cool! I wonder how bad the batteries are and what can be done about it. I'm pretty out of touch with them.

I don't know what the cost of replacement is but many older Leafs have less than 30 miles range now.

I see prices of $5500 or more. Yikes! That's more than i have paid for gas in my Civic since 2011, possibly.

I only see two Leaves in the Phoenix area for sale by owner on Craigslist, but there are supposedly another fifty-five for sale by dealers, even when duplicates are bundled.

The two for sale by owner are two of the three cheapest. 2013 by owner for $6,350, 2013 for sale by dealer for $6,998, and 2013 by owner for $7,000.

OfferUp shows a 2016 for $300.

How many digits are they missing? It shows a window sticker, so this should be a dealership, but it says that Jesus is selling it.

It is from three months ago! Curse you OfferUp!

Searching by price, the cheapest result is a Nissan Titan. Why did they post it for $1?! Nobody is going to take that seriously! I would look for vehicles with real prices first and then circle back to the one already wasting my time.

The cheapest legitimate Leaf is a 2011 with 14,413 miles for $5,950, but the ad is three weeks old.

An eight year-old car with one year's worth of miles?! Did they lost the vast majority of their "investment" or did they save by deciding to not go anywhere that week?

How come even Craigslist had more Leaves than Facebook?

There was a mint SC2 saturn 5 speed, with leather even, and 90k kms, so 59k miles at the auction yesterday. They couldn't get $1000 for it. Vancouver is a weird bubble where old, good stuff is totally worthless.

I've already established that the asking price can safely be ignored. Don't search by price, search by what you want and negotiate the price.

We've also talked about how OfferUp has more dirtbags because it's a simpler platform to use. The simpler the platform, the worse the participants.
