On a rise or ridgeline a depression could have drain lines downhill and away.

It could be like a hill that's all cave. If the building inspector walks right past and doesn't know it's a building -- success!

That's not exactly what I had in mind, but it makes the Hobbit hole idea quite interesting. As long as it also leads to lower taxes.

Hmmm. The inspections I have been part of: if the inspector cant observe it, you fail and get to take it apart. Once it's done, the inspector doesn't get involved unless there's a jurisdiction requirement after major damage.

I don't once again see that point.

Hence all the goofy electrical on my current house. The HVAC electrical I just had, said my existing wiring was weird, but wouldn't go any further and bought off just the AC wiring. The inspection slip also points out that there is no consideration for the legality of existing systems.

I have difficulty parsing this sentence.

Here is a minimal floor plan if there ever was one. The whole bathroom folds away and the refrigerator opens from either side.

To paraphrase Dylan[, Bob]: Spanish walls of Spanish leather.

Made sense to me. Can't see what's wrong but remember I am dyslexic. I never forget that mostly because people remind me consistently.

Fold out bathroom would cause a problem couple of times a night for me unless you can keep it folded out and still sleep in the bed. Didn't see the imbedded.

Doesn’t look like it’ll be a problem in the future...

That problem has been less of a problem for me lately, reasons unknown. But the electrical wiring is beyond my understanding. The original wiring in 1962 was ungrounded but some grounded segment were patched in.

Some outlets have gone dead, but the place hasn't burnt down. [shrug]

I may have a buyer for the VW Dasher, I'm thinking seriously about immediately sinking the proceeds into an Ecoflow DELTA. It would be the nucleus of a 1260 watt-hour miicrogrid.

....also speculating about a fresnel lens solar water heater on a pole, so I don't have water piped onto the roof.

edit: Here's the Ecoflow DELTA: us.ecoflow.com/products/ecoflow-delta-portable-power-station. Accessories include 100or 160 watt solar panels, an intelligent Y cable that gangs two of them together for 2-phase 220V, and battery expansion options.

I'd also be inclined to try a similar approach, even though it might require some extra insulation to the pipes in order to not waste much of the heat while the water flows from the heater to the household.

I hadn't thought through that part, I just have an unused utility pole. I also have an air compressor tank that I could paint black and wrap a fresnel lens or two around. The weight would keep it on the ground where it would get (a little?) less light.

The opposite case is where you use the fresnel lens to mimic sunlight: hackaday.com/2019/08/17/great-artificial-daylight-via-broken-tvs/
