Don't know if I'm making this up after the fact, but horizontal electric screws into holes in vertical pegs or pins.

So, this bucket of crap has run 24 hours of LeMons repeatedly. It is a Dodge Omni GT rebuilt by Jet Electra as an EV back in the day of gas lines at the pump:

Not sure about "TOY" lipo packs since I have failed them in spectacular ways. Should be able to hot swap under 14 seconds if held internal.
Why not a tesla drivetrain?

That's the thing, the EV had to cheat. You get $500 to spend total on the vehicle. If all $500 went into batteries, you might get a 4 kWh pack.
The only explanation I can see is that the rules allow an unlimited amount of money to be spent on safety including the fuel cell. Perhaps they regard the battery as a fuel storage cell, and therefore exempt from the $500 limit. |
