IIRC the BX floorpan used in the Gol, Voyage/Fox/Amazon/Gacel/Senda, Parati and Saveiro was actually based on the B1 Passat.

I basically went from flathead Fords (6 and 8) to Volkswagens, now it looks like Ford and VW are getting together:

carscoops.com:Ford And Volkswagen Could Engage In A Wide-Ranging Partnership

They talk about trucks, but I'll bet it's also about electric recharging networks.

Justacarguy discovers one of my favorite obscurities, The White Horse:

Just A Car Guy: Ever heard of a White Horse delivery van? You't think I would have run across this before, but somehow I never have. Powered by an air cooled Franklin engine, built by White Motors (like the trucks)

Unit body, mid-rear engine — an air-cooled Franklin, like the Tucker. The windshield reminds me of a Tempo Matador.

This was the 1930s when the VW bus wasn't even a gleam in Ben Pons eye. White also made a flathead flat twelve in the 1930s;:

Oh, and only the 20th Beetle ever, restored: Just A Car Guy: Ondrej Brom has found and restored the oldest surviving VW Beetle in Czechoslovakia in 1988, and bought it in 1997. Serial number 20

New generation of the Class-2 to Class-5 Volkswagen trucks

Virtus with the new taxi livery of Porto Alegre (orange ones remain operating unchanged until their taxi licenses expire)

Not the same taxi I posted previously. This one has the 1.0 TSI engine instead of the 1.6L naturally-aspirated.

What about the Beetle with a rear wiper and a possible water-cooled engine swap I spotted last Friday night?

I'm not sure, but this Brasília might have served as a taxi in Porto Alegre
