It's not the old New Beetle, it's a new New Beetle. The warranty might outlast is probably a few years.

The rolling car show was nice, but they could have sprung for the convertible.

Knew it was a new beetle. Can't imagine Xist owning an aircooled, required maintenance would be a whole new forum on it's own. Green light on? from The compleat idiots guide.

When Rich's German Motorwerks was still extant, the mechanic's disliked working under the New Beetle dash compared to the Golf. Never knew the details, never cared -- the Golf has a lower Cd.

I think the only do-or-die maintenance on a Type 131 was valve adjustment and the points and plugs. The Pertronix Ignitor solved the latter. I tried hydraulic lifters on one build but they rattled while they were cold on startup.

The blue coupé-utility is a Saveiro. The black coupé is a Chevrolet Opala.

Look at this Opala I spotted some years ago.

Don't forget brake pad adjustments, greasing, and if you follow the owners manual, washing and waxing monthly to keep the drains clean, topping up the washer bottle and spare is a goodie because it will puke on you if you don't use their procedure

There is a New New Beetle? Does Wikipedia know? It just told me they stopped production in 2003 and I felt surprised they would give someone a car that old.

The original New Beetle borrowed the architecture of the Audi Spyder. An arc over two circles

Then they soften the roofline into more of a 40's fastback shape:

I wouldn't like the wheels on anything else.

I don't have a working camera, but yesterday I saw a nicely stanced red late model [prolly Standard] Beetle with a license plate that said KDF and a 3-digit number. I wondered if they knew how awesome that is.

Are the green hubs an old 5 wide lug adapter?
