A hybrid Thunderbird would be something... the perfect remake. Thunderbirds Are Go!

No strings attached

Congrats on the move, Bill!

I used to spend a fair amount of time in Delaware, specifically in the Bethany Beach to Fenwick Island region. Great place. Move just a few miles inland and it becomes soooo much flat farmland. Like, midwest flat.

Good for pulse-and-gliding, I think.

That is exactly the area that the new house will be built in, except our lot is 10 miles inland. We absolutely love Bethany Beach!

The Firebrid is almost ready for the big move. The rest of the garage... not so much.

If you fill that fender gap with duct tape you will fit in better around here!

Good luck on your move.

Done. The duct tape will keep the car cover from shredding in the wind on the sharp edges.

Thanks for the well wishes!

Getting close to moving day!

The Prius v parking brake assembly was installed in a temporary location and is functional. In the future it will need to be welded to the Firebird mounting bracket so that it will be in the correct position. I simply ran out of time.

The rear wheels are back on the ground so that the car can be stopped when loading onto the trailer. Also the trunk lid is back on the car so that the car cover has something to rest on in the rear without flopping into the opening going down the road.

Finally, I mounted the bike rack onto the trailer hitch so that the bikes don't need to take up space in the U-haul truck.

A busy but productive weekday evening.

The Firebrid has been successfully moved from Ohio to Delaware.

The Firebrid is now safely tucked into its new temporary storage unit in Delaware awaiting the day when it can finally be moved to the planned heated garage at the yet-to-be-built house. All of the project parts, etc., are a couple of units away. Sadly, this means the project updates will be taking a break for about a year until that finally happens. Time to go back into planning mode!

Will you exercise the hybrid battery monthly so it does not deteriorate?
