Fuel Shark. What?!?

First new thread in a long time.

Anyways, I saw this on the local news site. Looked like a new gimmick that won't do anything. Some sort of "voltage regulator". Anybody ever hear of this?

There's a few threads on voltage regulators.

The one Consumer Reports tested was found to have an advantage : it has a nice little light on it when it's plugged in ...

Money Shark would have been more appropriate.

Brilliant marketing idea.

Name of the thing you are trying to improve + an animal that's scary or tough = success.

I agree. Unicorn it.

...BELIEVE IT OR NOT, but GM is uses something vaguely similar on their new cars to reduce alternator load at idle and thus boost fuel economy.

Mrs A's iPhone charger does that. The Octavia loved sitting on the drive for 2 weeks with it plugged in.
