I can't remember; either G1parts or MajesticHonda I think? It makes a tremendous difference for drives under 15 miles or so.

Yea my drive to work and back is only 6 miles each way, and in the morning when I go home my coolant is always under 40F.

I don't want to spend over 60$ shipped and I can't find one. Darn. All are 56-65 with 10-15$ in shipping.

I think I ordered one for the Civic hybrid of the same year, and that's about what I paid. You might consider going with a 3rd party, higher wattage heater, but I was concerned the threads wouldn't match.

Yea that's not really worth it for me. At 75$ I can buy new shocks for the Mustang. I don't think the block heater would ever pay for itself. Even if it gave me a 10mpg jump in the short distance runs.

We now have a second Insight in the family!

My son and I drove down to Ft Lauderdale yesterday and he bought this one. The only things I could find wrong with it is that it has the second gear downshift grind (but double-clutching it works fine), the front bumper needs re-painted and is missing some clips, and it's missing the front aero panels of course. The IMA battery is at least as good as Turtle's and there is already a grid charger harness in place. It has RE92s all the way around, and the two on the back are brand new. He ended up getting it for 2,200 bucks (about 600 bucks less than the asking price), a pretty good deal in this market!

It needs the plugs cleaned and torqued, and I might throw my old EGR valve on it since I still have it. It was impossible to maintain lean burn on the highway, it jerked too much when it hit lean burn, so I had to keep dropping out and feathering the pedal just under lean burn (for three hours!). I averaged 58.5 mpg on the trip home, we will remedy that soon!

I keep forgetting you live down that way.

I should have had you scope it out for me . . . but then again, you'd have probably bought it out from under me, lol!

Here's a tired old Insight somebody could pick up for under 2K in Jacksonville

2000 HONDA INSIGHT HYBRID M/T

And for you high rollers, here's one in Orlando with 94,000 miles on it that they'd probably let go for 5K, maybe even a little less.

Did you drive your Insight down. That would have been a sight one following the other down the road.
