This one has lower line attachments to feed the Prius tank. Payback would be about 11,000 miles. I would fill the Prius tank first, the add up to the 25 gallons point to the racing cell.

This one is a bit smaller, but with the Prius 10 gallon tank, and this, I could fill to 25 gallons. Payback would be about 9,000 miles:

I didn't even know fuel cells could be had for close to $100.

Seems like the solution! I should be able to put this in the spare tire well, cover it to seal it from the interior, leaving the fill cap exposed for filling. (yes, a second fuel filler flap on the fender of the car would be preferable) being sure to provide venting to under the car, turn the car off for refueling, wipe the filler opening well,and be safe from electrical caused explosion.
Ideal would be to slice into and weld to the car's fill tube, and keep the whole race tank isolated from inside the car, but that's a higher skill than I have just to save 50 cents per gallon.
Any better ideas?

I would just put a Reece caddy on the cars trailer hitch and ratchet strap up to 3 gas cans on there.
This was the original use for my home made Reece caddy, transportation of up to 4 gasoline jugs or up to two 20lb propane tanks to and from the store.
Now I just use my 4x8 utility trailer.

I don't know what I'd be willing to pay for the privilege of not having to mess about filling jerry cans, but I'm sure it exceeds the $1.50 per fillup you're trying to save.

$50 per gallon discount = $12.50 on a 25 gallon fill up.
10 fill ups pays for the extra race tank.

OK, I accidentally dropped the decimal point. You save $.10 per gallon up to 25 gallons for every $100 you buy in the store. The limit is 500 points redeemed for $.50 off each gallon up to 25 gallons. ($12.50)
Since my tank is so small, I usually have to refill when I only have 200 points. and, only get $.20 per gallon savings on 10 gallons. ($2.00)
An additional 15 gallon tank would allow me to drive longer and build up my points to the maximum savings of $.50 per gallon.
