Now on to water injection. In WW2 Pop was a B17 pilot. The engines in the B17 had a "war emergency power" setting with water injection. Turbocharged radials with pilot controllable wastegates. The war emergency power setting was just what it stated, additional power by overboosting the engines, something like 35 PSI of boost, and the water injection was there.

TO KEEP THE ENGINE FROM BLOWING IT'S CYLINDER HEADS OFF.

Nothing to do with fuel economy, but it did help you to clear the cliffs of Dover in a shot to hades plane with one engine left out of 4 and 50 feet of altitude, trying to save 4 crewmembers who were severely wounded.

Mech

Water injection for fuel economy works. People just keep trying to put it on the wrong kind of engine.

You'll also find many success stories where people use HHO, search Youtube many local news stations have covered people doing just this.

Does it work? Maybe it doesn't, maybe it does, maybe there are other factors causing it to work or not work. All I'm saying is don't believe everything you're told.

Ergo: people tell you things you want to hear to make you buy things they want to sell.

People who aren't selling the product or a competing product have no ulterior motive besides trying to steer you right.

The only halfway believable claims of fuel savings I've heard have come from people who use electronics to fiddle with the car's ECU inputs and/or outputs.

The problem with that is: just fiddling with the electronics, in and of itself can net huge gains in fuel economy without any other modifications... particularly if the stock maps are crap, in the first place.

I am talking about using straight water in diesel, turbodiesel and gas turbines.
Unfortunately most people seem set to use it on gasoline engines, where it doesn't work.

All my water injection plans are on the wiki, I wont try to sell you anything but I provided links to parts suppliers where I got parts.

Water injection - EcoModder

Apparently my water injection page has been linked or featured some where.
Last year it barely had 1000 views, now it has over 13,000 views.
