Not everybody but it all has to balance out in the end. Taxpayer money=government. Government is simply a wasteful middle man of taxpayer money.

But hey, sometimes living in a cave sounds great

I do not begrudge the guy from using his online voice. As much as there many people would rather not hear from him, there is little alternative for presenting the alternatives.

And I don't really think that everyone else is putting more into the system than they take out for that matter. Borrowing an unused terminal at the library is nothing.
I like to think that I contribute in less fiscally determined ways.

In response to some other replies... I make less than 2,000 dollars

a year!!! and I DO eat roadkill, as long as it is relatively fresh(winter is different).
I don't spend more than i get. and i don't pay any attention to ads i see or hear because they are SUPPOSED to make you spend money. I make or find what i need. I have a family of three. IMO he is the smartest person around, Why worry about money? Have you ever gone camping and when it was time to go home you said "but i don't want to go, i like it here, i could live here forever.????? just stop and think about how greedy and wasteful we are.

If you're feeding a family of three on <$2000/yr, you're ... feeding them all roadkill? Living in a log cabin with no internet? Accepting taxpayer money and neglecting to count that as income?

If you make too little money, how can you afford one of these: SolarShed ? Or a new bicycle, or a dog, etc. I could live on $10k/yr, live well on $20k/yr, and anything beyond that I am happy to save or spend on things that improve the world or my enjoyment of it.

I don't claim to live on 2k a year, and I'm collecting unemployment right now (a rather hefty sum, compared to local jobs), but I've lived far below the poverty level, and I lived happily that way.

I'm perfectly OK with hunting/trapping (albeit illegally) for my food, living in the woods in a shack that I build with downed trees and moss, drinking water from an artesian-fed stream, picking berries and nuts to eat... More than happy.

I just can't force my family to live that way, so I must succumb to the daily grind, which includes electricity, TV, internet, etc.

TV soon won't be an option (when the house is built) though. I'm not paying for satellite TV, she can watch it on the Internet. I don't personally care about TV. I feel like most of it is a detractor from my interest in life.

I intend to live in that house, once it's built, on as little money as is necessary to keep us fed and clothed, and keep us living healthily, with a few amenities, such as internet, which is actually more of a useful tool to me than an amenity.

Been without tv since early last spring thanks to the digital switch and signals too weak for converter boxes to work with. I don't miss it. Net is my big time waster now.

Would have been the same here if it weren't for cable service. My time wasters are playing with my half-baked projects and internet.
