Yes, the green is absorbing the other colors, so color accuracy would be better with a neutral grey, or white. I'll probably go white since I want all the brightness I can get. It's popular as of late to go with a neutral grey to attenuate some of the light for better contrast and darker darks, but I would think you could accomplish much the same by reducing brightness on the projector end. That said, I'm pretty darn impressed with this "roughed in" setup. AllDarc would be appalled.
My original plan was to mud the wall smooth and paint white, but now I'm wondering if an accoustically transparent screen is a better strategy. My speakers are tall enough that it interferes with where I want my screen to be displayed. An acoustically transparent screen would let me place the speakers behind.
My project in case anyone has suggestions:

Actually, a projected image might smudge out the effect he is experiencing.
My brother built a 30x40ft shop so he could make the upper level a home theater. He went with gray over white. Maybe your projector has a white balance that would compensate. (least expensive solution?)
I've been wanting to find someone that wants to build something, a green-screen backdrop for webcasting. It's based on Tech Ingredients $30 speaker. The acoustical tile material he uses can be had in 4x8 sheets. That's a 107" diagonal. It needs a light coating (Plastidip?) to be an effective speaker.
My plan was to use it as an Plate Echo ( Plate Echo - The Greatest Studio Effect Of All Time!). But for multichannel sound it might be complicated. Maybe center channel and reverb through the screen and side channels on separate speakers.
I followed your link. It sounds like the cart idea turned into a ceiling mount. You could Plastidip a piece of ceiling tile and hold it up at the wall distance to see if the grain is visible to viewers. What do you think of making a wall-sized center speaker?

We randomly watched an episode of a Canadian show called "Private Eyes" last night and set the DVR to record all future episodes. I would watch all three seasons, more than any Tick show has completed, if it was included with any streaming service. It features someone named Jason Priestly, but I set it to record because it guest-starred Colin Furguson, the current Maytag man, and a regular actor on Hallmark, but he was the main character in SciFi's "Eureka."

Not a movie but not worth a new thread?
Only the flat screen on the mantel is anachronistic.

Watched the first episode of the last season of the gruff Doc. Martin. My wife love's it. I like Martin Clune's acting, pretending to hate dogs..... altho he adores animals. Yeah, you can tell Clune is working hard NOT to hug the dogs. What I will miss most when the series ends will be "Port Wenn", in reality, Port Isaac, England. However, Port Isaac was used in some parts of the Poldark Series, & other shows, even in a movie starring Martin Clune, well BEFORE Doc. Martin.
So, we're destined to see more of Port Isaac in the future.

Since we're going OT, my favorite documentary is "The Dawn Wall" (about grit and rock climbing) on Netflix. Just finished a good one called "The Brain of Bill" (Bill Gates) on Netflix last night.
