My plans are relatively conservative, so I'll be fine untill next inspection at least.
Currently just messing with some vortex generators and a grille block next.
And it's not like police is going around to check for flat undertrays or stuff like that.

Thumbs up

40 MPG sounds pretty impressive to me, especially stock. Super cool little car!

Your EPA rates it at 22 city/27 highway/24 mixed, wich is rather easy to beat.
I hope to improve on my current record by learning a few more techniques as well as slightly modifying my car.
Sadly I can't do as much as some of you guys do or the Police and TÜV get angry...
Actually I always considered the fuel in Germany to be cheap: I lived at Kerkrade, next to the border with Herzogenrath and I almost exclusively filled up in Germany. Because the price difference with the Netherlands, used to be something like € 0,30 a litre for gasoline.

Since January this year, the German government however added a CO2 tax to the fuel of almost € 0,10 so every since tanking has gotten more expensive. But still cheaper than the Netherlands, and you can still get regular Super E5

A friend of mine has moved to Portugal IIRC in late 2017, then he went to Germany and finally settled in England. While in Portugal he used to see a lot of cars with 1.6L turbodiesels, he told me in Germany even a Skoda Octavia would be easier to find with a 2.0 TSI instead.
