Vans are great tow rigs. Tow with a GM van myself. I built a high compression 383 with aluminum heads, have it backed to a 4L85E and 3.73 gears. Van itself gets 20-21 mpg on long trips running 70-80 mph and about 12-14 towing my 26' travel trailer at 65 mph. Adding displacement via a stroker crank and airflow via higher flowing aluminum heads both increased torque and horsepower. More power actually helped my fuel economy compared to the weaker 350. The only aero I plan to add is a taller air dam under the front bumper. Beyond that my efficiency and power improvements are the engine, tri-y 4-2-1 headers, free flowing exhaust, upgraded intake, tuning, under drive crank pulley, and synthetics.

Definitely still some low-hanging fruit on that setup, but clearly a fair amount of effort was made.

One day I will live to see the day when side mirrors are not legally required.

Let's hope, we rely on airbags to always work, ABS ro always work, tell me we can't design an imaging system to always work.
And if it breaks, a user has the option to install a mirror instead.

Or look over their shoulder, as I always do even with mirrors.

Some vehicles are already fitted with cameras instead of mirrors in my country, but I'm not sure about the legal status of a retrofit.
