It can be slapped into any hybrid car and back feeds the hybrid system so car uses mo electric than gas. Better mpg is the result.

Dude, you have built a few hondas. Im sure you could of easily afforded a used Insight, Prius or some over hybrid that came and went. Same stuff, different day. Once you get the car stuff figured out you just install the big box in the trunk with the batteries, converter, bms, charger and wires. Run a switch, run a power cord, run a lead to the ecu for a ready signal if available. Once you turn it on just drive and get an instant boost of mpg and extended use of EV mode if available.

A gen 1 insight can be a fustercluck of a project. They usually suffer from several problems, bad ima battery, bad or missing grounds, leaking exhaust, bad cat, bad o2 sensor, clogged vtec filter, 2,3 sychros need replacing, ISB needs replacing, etc.

You can bypass the ima battery, try balancing it or replace it for 2 grand with a new one. The rest of the stuff Im sure you have done already. Sometimes the IMA errors are from a rat snacking on the wires inside the battery unit.

'Guess I'll just stay old-skool. I've actually found an '81 civic wagon up in Iowa that I'm starting to get a hard-on for (I was born in 1981 - that would be just too cool to have a car my age! ) Runs and drives, and prolly more expensive than a hybrid
