Or I could just shut off the pilot and hot wire the furnace fan and have zero dollars invested but I don’t own it so nope. The main fan run continuously is moderately power hungry also

Sadly my basement with air circulation does heat up after a few days of 90F + weather and the cooling effect isn’t as great as you would want

Keeping the same air in only works with window units, the seer ratings for dual hose units are perpetually pretty terrible.
The unit I linked has a CEER of 12.4, which rivals window units. It keeps the outside air outside so there's no pressure differential. Also has an air filter and dehumidifier.

I've got no experience with the thing, so I can't personally recommend it, but the webz tends to have good things to say about it.

Electronic thermostats can be configured to run the fan intermittently. I’ve got mine configured to run 15min every hour starting at 2pm. Mixing the cooler downstairs air with upstairs delays my AC use.

I have the exact same model air conditioner to you. I basically made a cardboard box that sat at the back of the unit. Mine had a hole in the top which I then fed with another flexi pipe like the one that comes with the unit. That basically made it a "2 hose" unit and significantly improved it's cooling ability.

I'd just make something cardboard to start with to test it out. If you're sucking from the vent in the floor it should be very easy.
