kach22i -- That says the Veyron has a Cd of 0.41, the same as a VW Beetle. I guess this wouldn't help then.

8/10ths frontal area?

I think the Veyron has three aerodynamic configurations with as low as Cd 0.38,and as high as Cd 0.67 with the airbrake extended.

You decide....

Design follows the aero template? Or just a coincidence?

I see a few of these trucks everyday on my way to work. The sloping roof screams aero to me. Follows the template to almost 30%. Can't be, right?

I cannot get over that it's numbers are not lower. Must be all the openings for that large engine to breath.

I guess you could keep many of the openings closed if doing a kit car.

It is pretty wide, maybe that's part of the problem with the CdA?

I think this one can be included.

Random TRANSPORTATION pictures - Page 1002 - Pelican Parts Technical BBS

The rear wing must be used as a crush zone or something, it would get no airflow.

The fenders are to fit wider wheels, cheaply.

The tail is part of the homage to the Silk Cut Jaguar racers, like this one:

Evidently this team's theme is a parody of the Jag racers.

Veyron CdA

With only plan taper of the roof, the Bugatti ends up with a fairly enormous wake. But it will be good for directional stability, like the transom of a ship.
On the internet, there is a photo of the Veyron crossing a dry lake bed at speed, and you can clearly see the disturbance of the air behind the car and it's wing.Dramatic!
Safety at 258-mph overshadows drag reduction.

We have them around this area also.It would be fun to speak with the purchasing manager 'n see what the motivation was for their choice in truck boxes.
And thanks for the photo,it's the first time to actually see the rig in true-length!
