PAUL Jaray
Blog Scuderia Brazil: Março 2013

Quote:
Jaray known name by which the bodies were designed by Austrian engineer Paul Jaray.

Contributor's Count Zeppelin for several years, Jaray became the first car designer to deal so rigorously scientific aerodynamics applied to automobile, J shape .

From a long series of experiments on models executed around 1920, in partnership with engineer Klemperer , the wind tunnel Luftschiffbau Zeppelin (Zeppelin Aircraft Construction), in Friedrichshaven, Jaray elaborated the theory of aerodynamics for land vehicles.

Since the first copies, as vehicles presented in Berlin in 1922, cars built according to these conceptions demonstrated the validity of the research and studies conducted by Austrian designer.

In the photo, two cars of the 1930s bodied Paul Jaray. Its rounded line with interior narrow and tapered toward the back reveals the great care with the aerodynamics.

The car on the left has four seats and mechanical Mercedes Benz. On the right is a two-seat sports chassis with front wheel drive Audi.

No hot-linking, so you'll have to go look on their terms but I'm very interested in the Spirit of LeMons in the background.

Edit: Well, that was easy

Ack! Bad link! I give up.

All links worked for me. Amusing projects! It's as if Wile E. Coyote had an auto shop.

I remembered something about FIAT doing some research on turbine cars. A quick search confirms your hunch: Fiat Turbina - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Well, something's not right. At least in the Opera web browser, the line "Ack! Bad link! I give up." is outdented under my subscriber info, and then subsequent posts are indented.

I'm passing malformed content to the vBulletin forum engine.
