Though I will still be driving my 1998 Civic, my wife will no longer be in the 2010 Subaru. An electric car will replace it.

My minimum fuel economy goal is 55 mpg while averaging posted speed limits. I generally top 60 mpg. See also my Honda manual transmission specs thread.

So do I. I can do it reasonably well, but it's such fussy, time-consuming, dusty work.
I repaired the rocker panels on my friend's 15 MPG Ford F-150 that I helped him to sell this fall.
After that, another friend with the same truck (same rust - surprise!) asked if I'd repair his in the spring, and I said thanks for asking, but no thanks. |

No! He didn't help - doesn't know anything about bodywork.
Though he can mud an invisible drywall joint, so he'd probably be OK at bondo.  |

I always thought of the Truck as so basic that any other name distracted from what it was. I mean, "Hilux?" It's only luxurious compared to walking. "Truck" tells you everything you need to know about it.

I'm still interested!
I'm still driving my 99 Saturn SW2, and my wife is still driving the 97 Saturn SC1 she bought new in the fall of 96. I've just added a 1981 Honda C70 Passport to the stable for local errands. The new cars just aren't that much more fuel efficient, and for that reason I can't justify the upgrade. I think I will drive the Saturns until they give up the ghost or I go electric.
