Now that is one bad ass looking front end. Gives it almost a tank look with the hidden MPG benefit. I see you went with the wings too, good choice. Don't know what it is, just seems to give it more of a finished look.

In no way do I want to be rude, but I have Frank: it's called a bicycle. I ride it pretty often. I don't have the capacity in my occupation to have more than two vehicles as I move so much. Also, I'm also someone who uses my SUV for the "Sport" and definately the "Utility" of it, not just for the sweet boxy satisfaction .

Whether for efficiency's sake, good pocket book sense, love of the environment or just for bragging rights, I believe most people on this forum are here to make what they have work better.

Depending on how my aluminum framed coroplast front end holds up, I may be keeping the same lines under the vehicle at axle level belly pan as my next project. I'm mentally drawing up a floating underbelly sort of thing with cut outs if needed for the driveshafts and differential housings. I wonder if a completely flat underbelly on a Jeep would make it better on the road? Though I probably don't need to wonder too much as it's been proven in other vehicles. Next one can be a 'finishing of the cube' of sorts (being as my vehicle more than slightly resembles a brick).

I took a trip today to help a friend pick up their vehicle (and get to test my new mod not on my dime). 20% of the trip took place in city traffic, the remaining 80% is at highway/freeway speeds of 60-75 MPH. Because I had a passenger (and it was freakishly humid and hot today) I ran the A/C the entire way, on low albeit so it did cycle the compressor on and off. 304 miles later, I had burned 14.2 gallons of fuel and averaged 21.4 MPG. Not great, but I never really had to use my A/C before for an entire long trip in my Jeep. I've got another one coming up in a few weeks that I'll be driving overnight so it shouldn't need A/C, just alternator load from lights.

Tomorrow I'm picking up the materials for the bellypan for this weekends work before the upcoming trip.

you could probably make a small lip to go on the trailing edge of the pan without too much difficulty, that would deflect the air under the Front Diff, though the control arms would be more difficult

21.4 is not that different from what we saw in our first 2WD '01 (stock, A/C, 3 pax, loaded, 70-mph). Am enjoying this thread as we still have (another) one.
