I've now decided bring my A-game car. I will enter with my Datsun B210 instead. No belly pan though. Can't let the Smart guys win right?

That's great! Almost makes me want to switch over to the 240SX so we can have a Datsun class! Except that our 240 rarely breaks 10L/100km...

I'll try to get you a codriver Mike. I have some ideas especially if you're bringing the Datsun.

I added a promo video to the first post. Went out and verified the route yesterday and everything is identical to 2010 except for a few km where the speed limit has been reduced by 10km/h due to deer incidents. In any case, we can surely compare the 2010/2011 results.

I also remembered how much fun it is to drive some of those roads. I was on 45-profile tires this time around and it allowed me to carry even more speed through the corners. Didn't measure my fuel economy though - it was hot and I ran the A/C and drove more for fun than economy...

Thanks to Jeff I now have a navigator and am looking forward to this event.

From watching Jeff's promo video I 've been reminded that I may have brought the best car in my fleet last year. The B210 might be a bit anemic for those big hills and staying on time. Also it doesn't handle as well as the SE-R, but you don't know how well you can do until you try!

We're looking forward to having you come up too Mike! And I'm curious to see how the Datsun will handle the course. Always fun though when a 34 year old car can outperform the 2011 models, at least in economy. If you can carry good momentum through the hilly sections, I think you'll do exceptionally well.

I think the Smarts will be in a similar situation!

Great! We'd be very happy to have you participate and represent ecomodder!

The drive is fun, the instructions are easy, and the competition is looking good and varied. Just grab a copilot, prep for hypermiling and show up at the start.

The gas station is on Celine Dion Boulevard if you can believe that.

Welcome aboard CigaR007,

I look forward to meeting you this Saturday. A Toyota Echo is a great car for this type friendly competition.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could Celine to ride with you?

Mike

What if I don't find a copilot ? Is there still a way for me to participate in this event, like doing the course on my own just for fun ? Looking forward to this to be quite honest.

Mauricio
