You nailed it euromodder,It is indeed the 1954 Bonneville Special, concept car. Here is a better look at, its just plain cool, at least to me.

Looks like a Dellow Mk1. Chassis made from surplus chromoly tank-killer rocket tubes!
Interestingly, found it from your latter clue. An aviation lover too.

Ok, how about this one? The one pictured is a kit car, but they were actually produced in the '60s. Probably one of my favorite car designs ever.
