some info: Only a single working Tri-Car Surburbanette was built and shown at the Universal Travel & Auto Sports Show at Madison Square Garden, New York City, held February 20-27, 1955. There were discussions of two others: one with a transparent panel above the seating area and a second with a removable fabric. There was no time for either one, considering that from concept design to a working car was under 4 months.

Good find ecomodded, knew gearheads around here will find it.

This specific Tri-Car, in collaboration with Bassons Industries in the Bronx, built this fiberglass panel delivery van in 1954.

Correct. - An Opel G.T. - I bought the car wrecked in 1981 for $600.00. Cut the damaged front and back off with gloves and tin snips. That metal was thick! I didn't know what a cutting tourch was. Formed the new front and rear with plaster. Made tooling from the plaster and attched the fiberglass parts to the G.T.'s body.

I drove the car all over Arkansas, Texas and California for five years. Very pleased that there were never any stress cracks that formed where the fiberglass attached to the German sheetmetal. Opel's are fine cars!

Wish I never would have sold it now.

Great job bondo. Always loved the GT, even though it was a Stingray knockoff. Thought it was a Conrrero kit, but your work was very distinctive. Where did you get those rear lights?

Thanks botsapper. They were fun little cars but you better have a bag of metric tools with you at all times.

The tail lights are out of an AMC Pacer. I couldn't afford the 928 Porsche tail lights I wanted, so I purchased the Pacer tail lights at a junk yard. I then turned them upside down and backwards and re-drilled holes for the light sockets to snap into. If I would not have, the bulbs would have been shining straight up. It looked pretty wicked at night.
