I'm not sure, I do hear the heatsink gets plenty hot. But they throw enough light to drive by in the various Youtube videos I've seen. Again, which is why I'm waiting for my friend. There isn't much info out there on these LEDs just yet.

Yes, thats one LED lamp like pictured, about 20' from the garage and about 4' off the ground. I was shooting a bunch of different lights that night all from the same height.

I hope to get a pair mounted on my Jeep in the next day or so and I'll take a shot of them on the street.

By contrast, this is a 8" offroad lamp I'm mounting a pair of on the front of my Neon. For really dark nights.

I recently picked up some 18w 1800 lumen 30* spot LED lamps, for the my Jeep and to put in the foglight locations on my Neon.

At about 20' and about 4' off the ground. These might be too bright for low beam use on the street though.

And just for informational purposes, the 6" lights in the first pic can fit slim digital ballasts for HIDs in the housing behind the lens. I've seen it done, and will likely do it to a pair as well. Offroad only, or, really dark deserted, no oncoming traffic in sight highways. The 6" lights are available at Harbor Freight for about $10 each and take a H3 bulb.
did your friend got his LEDs??

Is'nt a 140 degree beam angle far too wide? Shouldn't it be more like 45 or 55 degrees?

Here's an LED-version (3.3A @ 14V) of the old incandescent aircraft PAR-36 landing lamps (8A @ 14V) that I used:

Hi,
i build LED Lowbeams for Bicycles (Velomobiles).
I used "Hella Modul60" beams and the results are great.
Power on the LED on the Picture: 1,6W (from 10!)
Cameraoptions:
ISO400, f-stop 4,9, exposure time 4 Sek. Marc's at 10/25/50m

At 10W there like an 55W H7 Beam from a Car!
