I adjusted my fuel log to pump fuel plus waste solvent used per mpg.

Did you factor the cost of the waste solvent? I don't think it is accurate to treat the waste solvent as "gas" when making the calculation. The point of ecomodding in general is to save on gas correct? Or figure out how to spend less per mile? Well, if your getting the solvent for lets say $.25/gal then the calculation changes.

What I did is took the waste solvent gallons plus pump fuel gallons and divide that by miles driven.
Example:
500 miles driven.
6 gallons waste solvent plus 6 gallons pump fuel equals 12 gallons total.
500miles / 12 gallons total fuel = 41.6 mpg.

Cost of waste solvent is 0 at this point and time. I pick it up for free while doing paint delivery's to the Auto Body Shop.

Cost of pump fuel is $2.59

6 gallons pump fuel * $2.59 = $15.54 cost for 6 gallons pump fuel.
$15.54 / 12 gallons pump and waste solvent = $1.29 gallon based on 6 pump and 6 waste solvent.
$1.29 / 500 miles driven =.0026 cents per mile.

I think this is right???

Looks right.

There is the argument that it doesn't get 60mpg (guessing here, I don't feel like searching) because you're burning waste solvent. Gallons of waste solvent.

But there is also the argument that the solvent is free. If, for example you managed to figure out how to make the motor run on a 50/50 ratio of pond water/gas would you have to factor the pond water in? I wouldn't think so, you don't have to pay for it.

At the end of the day it comes down to $$$/mi. And you're doing really well with that.

This is where the conversations get interesting. I was talking with some friends this weekend about this and it was a even split on how it should be calculated. Then after everyone settle down I threw out what if I get a State Licenses to pick up waste solvent and have it incinerated with my engine, that will be giving off better emission then what the States incinerator uses and less then or equal to what a stock 1991 Talon Emissions are out tail pipe? Then I do what the Body Shops are doing and charge for hazardous waste removal??? Could I get down to .001 cents per mile?
Of course this isn't going to happen but it was food for thought.

you're using two sources of fuel(energy).... more or less what a hybrid powertrain does. should all of those have their calculations adjusted?

being able to easily represent multiple fuel usage values(w/solvent factored in vs without, etc) would be neat.

Time for a to do list update.

My plans this winter.

1) Build a permanent box frame in closer for the large mid-mount turbo to set in.
The one I have now is just a temporary to let me see what improvements should be made.
2) Build a internal large turbo to small turbo charge pipe that will run inside the car and through the fire wall. This will give me back some ground clearance.
3) Build a 8 point roll bar that will have head clearance for daily driving without a helmet issues.
4) Install vacuum pump.
5) Install N2O dry system.
6) New rear Calipers and pads.
7) New spark plugs and wires.

All of this will happen while I keep the car on the road except the roll cage. This will have about a two week down time.

At this time I'm not sure? I can't make a decision on if I want to do a 10 point 9 second cert. cage or just a 8 point for safety street playing.
