narrow skinny rims and tires for 88-91 civic

Someone else probably already figured this out, but just in case, 2001-13 Mini Cooper spare tire rims allow you to run a 125r15 Michelin X or similar tire on 88-91 civics. Nearly identical outside tire diameter, a lot skinnier for reduced rolling friction and less air drag.

Also improves steering if you have deleted power steering, makes it easier to turn wheel in a parking lot!

While it may seem that a tall, skinny tire would have better RR, the facts say otherwise.

Besides, a tire's RR is more about the tread compound and spare tires are made from the crappiest rubber that can be found.

very counter-intuitive.

I will have to research that further. As far as tire compound, the tires are not spare tires, only the rims. I have to spend some time with this chart and maybe look at others. Although at first glance it does appear wider tires are giving better results, the difference may be related to overall outside diameter since a given diameter with a wider tire and the same aspect ratio will have a greater outside tire diameter. Looking at the first two tires, the wider 215 does beat the 205. But since both are 70r15, the 215 has an OD of 26.9, while the 215 has an OD of 26.3. That extra height may be the determining factor.
As I said, I will need to research this further. I only spent a few minutes at this point looking at it, so I may be completely incorrect even with what I have noted above.

Thank you for your input, if I have a chance to break this chart down or find other info I will post it when I can.
