Volkswagens are a good example for this kind of engineering, it's quicker to just swap out the engines for service than overhaul it in the car
Also, probably a lot cheaper to get a working, less driven engine to swap versus getting all the rebuild parts. Not to mention machining cost at a shop.

I suppose the twingo is still one of the fine easy access for repairs type of cars?

Makes sense, but it's still like comparing apples and oranges. Used vs. brand-new.

phew, drove roughly 700 kilometres yesterday.

I visited a childhood friend in Kuopio and fetched another one from Jyväskylä.

Drove mostly 50 and 60mph and closer to the cities there were occassionally 120kmh/75mph roads. Kinda funny when the car can barely top 155kmh/96mph.

Almost had the pedal at full throttle and often the car was in open loop when i had to join the highways.

Despite some city driving and highway cruising at high RPM, i got a fuel economy of 5,4L/100km or 43.56MPG.

i think its not that bad for starters. I had tires overinflated, thats kinda the only mod so far
