Counter that with much less damage in case of a side swipe. When parking on a road I always try to park at a bit of an angle with the rear further out for that reason.

Would be interesting to try the hybrid approach on this design, eventually resorting to the engine and rear swing-arm assembly of some large scooter.

Unless they could consider to do a reverse-trike with a front loading bay, similar to some older tricycles which used to be made in countries such as Germany or Portugal.
