Rocket man already fired a missile at Hawaii.
Remember the false alarm missile warning. Yeah wasn't a false alarm, the vehicle splashed before it got within a couple thousand miles of HI. Likely contained no warhead.
Because if north Korea fired a weapon at the United States and it killed citizens that would initiate a very brief reunification conflict. Most of the north would be glass floored self illuminating parking lot.

We're in agreement, except as to who's submarine it was.

Interesting times; remember the Skunk Bay missile?

Too Cheap to Meter - Matt Rickard
10 Jan 2022The phrase "too cheap to meter" was used in a 1954 speech by the Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, Lewis Strauss. ""It is not too much to expect that our children will enjoy in their homes electrical energy too cheap to meter." Strauss's prediction didn't come true. Imagine if electricity were so plentiful that it was free.

It's just that no-one has ever done [wind and solar] right.

Sure they have, just as communism has been done right. They are small in scope and conform to the needs and resources of the locality.

We practice pure communism in our household. Baby gets everything she needs taken care of. All assets go into a shared pool. Those needing more get more, those needing less get less.

I'd recommend neither as a complete solution at a national level. Communism is increasingly dysfunctional as the unit size extends beyond a single family. Probably completely dysfunctional beyond a few hundred people.

That was just the first order referent. Wind/solar done right IMHO would involve a 'skybreak bubble' with diameters of 10s to 100s of [feet/yards/meters] with the wind turbines inside the zenith of the structure where the windspeed is all Bernoullied out, and the solar gain is stored in hot salt.

By my standards you don't. I subscribe to Timothy Leary's en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eight-circuit_model_of_consciousness
Quote:
The eight-circuit model of consciousness is a hypothesis by Timothy Leary, later expanded on by Robert Anton Wilson and Antero Alli, that suggests "eight periods [circuits] and twenty-four stages of neurological evolution".[1] The eight circuits, or eight systems or "brains", as referred by other authors, operate within the human nervous system. Each corresponds to its own imprint and subjective experience of reality.[2]
Quote:
The fourth circuit concerns itself with cultural values and operating within social networks. This circuit is said to have first appeared with the development of tribes.
This is why you shouldn't talk to toddlers about politics. They just think you cra-cra.
