I suggest you READ that wikipedia page again.
It is not sold. PERIOD.
There are many concepts, but currently there is not one air powered or air hybrid car on the market at all.

Let alone the infastructure.

Normally when a train wrecks, it only wrecks once. But wreckprops is like a Duracell powered train; it just keeps crashing and crashing and crashing.....

Sorry, couldn't resist the carnage that is this incessant stupidity. Keep 'em coming; it's entertaining in a twisted sort of way.

Darn..

Funny as I have a friend whom has a friend that was going to import one.

We were very interested in seeing it.

And as I have seen videos of the cars running, I cannot be blamed that some how or some reason these did not happen is my being dumb.

Grated I did not recheck on what had seemed a done deal over there and I never did think they would be imported here as is due to the US regs.

I was thinking that as these were being made newer and that then better versions would be made and sooner or later we would see such cars in use here.

Oh well.

What really blows my mind is this is not a new idea.

There is a rich history of compress air driven machines, and IF it could work with heavy iron steam Locos it should work with a light fiberglass bodied car.

If you think I am insane check these out:

From Wikipedia

"History
Gotthardbahn: Pneumatic Locomotive with attached pressure container.[5]

Compressed air has been used since the 19th century to power mine locomotives and trams in cities such as Paris (via a central, city-level, compressed air energy distribution system), and was previously the basis of naval torpedo propulsion.

During the construction of the Gotthardbahn from 1872 to 1882, pneumatic locomotives were used in the construction of the Gotthard Rail Tunnel and other tunnels of the Gotthardbahn.

In 1903, the Liquid Air Company located in London England manufactured a number of compressed-air and liquified-air cars. The major problem with these cars and all compressed-air cars is the lack of torque produced by the "engines" and the cost of compressing the air.[6]

Recently several companies have started to develop compressed air cars, although none have been released to the public, or have been tested by third parties."

Oil companies at work again???

Dang... I thought the train had left the station permanently... my fault for believing the announcer. But you're right, it is entertaining.

The company spends millions and still has no product for sale... That ought to be a pretty pretty big clue for anyone that wants to do the same but without the millions.

There's barely enough power being generated with the fuel vapor and then you want to inject water?? Brilliant.

Explain your connection to the oil companies? Are you thinking compressed air cannot be generated using oil-based products?

The big problem with compressed air anything is efficiency. At industrial air pressures of about 100 PSI, it takes about 4 hp of air compressor per 1 hp of air motor. At the high pressures (3000 to 5000 PSI) needed for a compressed air vehicle, the efficiency is worse.

Low efficiency = expensive to run.

We need to keep this thread going for the entertainment value.

All you need is no morels.

There's barely enough power being generated with the fuel vapor and then you want to inject water?? Brilliant.

And you guys hassle me for being dumb, IF the car is running fine on vapor and the only problem is the NOX then the possible cure is a little water...

Conspiracy 101: It has been said the last bunch of wars were fought over oil.

It has been said (on hundreds of web sites...go look them up yourselves) that the oil companies have been behind the major of suppression events, by buying patents, scaring people to stop, by sabotage, by doctoring the local fuels to stop vapor carbs, to many other dirty tricks.

It has been hinted that oil companies and auto makers killed the Turbine cars, the early (the last 30 years) electric cars, and now perhaps the AIR CAR.

The reason is said to be they fear the lost income from our massive use of oil and the much lighter use that would happen with the other cars...

And before some smart guy jumps in with this fact, I will point out the Turbine was not a great MPG car in fact it was as bad as the other cars MPG wise, it its case it lack of service parts and projected 500,000 to one million life seems to have partly done it in.

I will point out it was super clean : smog wise.

Rich
