Official MPGuino preassembled now available

I know and the MPG does not seem too far off either....

And as it was driven just about that as well. So that seems right as well.

OK so one is normal, see anything wrong?

OK Checks good.

GPH is low, but it is reading and reacting to the throttle and MPH is also working only reading double the real speed...

Funny the manual said it is 2000 pulses per mile so I set the unit for 4000, as the one in the Ford had to be doubled, so I think I will reset to 2000.

Then tweek the MPG and GPH hour until it matches real MPG.

Well I had that wrong, 2000 gave a reading about 4 times the real speed, 60 MPH at a real 15 MPH, so I went the other way and set for 8000 and it now reads 15 for 15MPH.

GPH may not be far off either at idal I read about 1 GPH, and it is still cold.

So a little fine tuneing and I am off and running.

One last problem:

Am I nuts or does the tank miles traveled reset if I change the screen??


Both my units seem to have lost the total miles traveled…

I have not hit the reset..but both units have reset the miles record or lost the correct miles.

What gauge wire to run?
I think 18-20 ga. wire might be ok but that's just a wilda** guess.
Anyone here have a better informed suggestion?
It should fit the crimp connectors for the 4-pin white nylon connector and carry the 'load' easily.

And, what rating fuse? Recommendation is to run off constant power so makes sense to me to fuse it. I already have a good tap at the battery so won't be using an existing fuse panel.

I have the preassembled MPGuino from opengauge.org with the 3 vertical buttons and white 4-pin connector.

I use flat phone cord a lot, the fuse should be sized to protect the wiring if you are concerned about shorting something out. One amp should be more than sufficient. I've never bothered with a fuse so I can't say for sure, but it is kinda like working without a net I suppose.


re: reset, my saturn has a slanty clear gauge window cover, sometimes it pushes "extra" buttons for me, but usually left + center is tank reset (right + center is "current" reset). Or somehow the middle button is getting mixed into the pressing, i.e. an enclosure issue w/insufficient clearance on the buttons.

Sorry that is not it and all I have been pressing is the left button to change screens.
