This is exciting, I could get our old CRV to push a little better towards what our Honda Fit got before it was crashed.

Sounding pretty good right about now.
I have heard good things about Walker brand CATs, an OEM supplier without the OEM markup. Something to look into. Its also really easy to determine if the CAT has lit. Grab a temperature gun and check the temperature before and after the CAT, it should go UP at the back, preferably by a few hundred degrees F.

I wonder would this be compatible with my 2004 transit.
Would be nice to have some sort of instant litres/100km reading.

My Civic doesn't have instant fuel economy read out either...that would be cool to know with one of these.

My favorite gauges:

Instant and average MPG
Engine coolant temp
Intake temp
Timing advance
Engine Load %
Instant fuel consumption gal/hour
Fuel remaining gal

That's totally the single most important thing you could have for improving fuel economy!

I like having that, throttle position, and rpm for my basics.

Would love one of these for my new car. Now that I have something the SG is compatible with.

It should be, as OBD2 has been around longer than that. And I use readers on my 2004 Prius.

As for whether it as the exact PID you need built into it, or whether the SC guys would have to add it, I don't know. They ended up adding Prius PIDs to my SC, and making me a CAN only cable for it, so now I have a CAN/OBD cable for other cars, and CAN only for my 04 and 06.

Now I need to win this SC-e so I can just leave the SC in my 06 and put the SC-e in my wife's 04.

OBDII started in 1996. Vehicles from that date on should have OBDII ports by law, as it was intended as an emissions diagnostic tool.
