Sounds like you need a beater with 1 or 2 inches of foam sprayed on the roof and sides.

How about the contents of the car?
Any chance they are going to cough up for a laptop?

Checked my insurance companies fine print and they cover up to $500 worth of vehicle content.
Actually my insurance company probably wouldn't cover the laptop in your situation as you had removed it from the car just prior to having it stolen.
Unless you forgot to mention that detail to them.

Nice, would double as sound proofing too. Would be like driving in a Limo.

Ya, I just spilled the whole story to the insurance guy, and then I thought, hey, diapers are also expensive, and there were 30 boxes of diapers and presents saved for the kids for the last 2 years that we had just put in there from their grandma and great aunt. Then the insurance guys said that it didn't matter, because they don't cover noncar stuff. Oh well!

Does spray foam release volatile chemicals (smell bad) when heated?

Perhaps it does not matter if the foam is on the OUTSIDE ..
.. but would the doors still open?

It gets better over time, but heat it to a[n in]flammability point and it turns into napalm.

Unhappy

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that Paul. I'm glad to hear your and your family are ok.

Wow, a lot can happen when I make a point of staying away from the compoooter and merrily working on the EV project...

Regarding circuit boards, you're referring to the rev2 version with the separate driver boards?

Is there any way I could help out with this? I mean perhaps I could help with the board layout or something?

Embarrassing post #2 - compiler

OK - I am tired of wasting time trying to get this code compiled .. and I'm humbly asking for help.

I created a new project in MPLAB X, using the template ds30
- added the header files as shown in the attached picture
- added source files
- did not remove the rest of the files
- did a clean and build
- the error log is attached

I made an edit to the make file - but it was not successful

I didn't use a makefile or template (you have some junk in there). I assume you have xc16 installed.

I just created a new project -> next
standalone next
device dsPic30f4011 next
pickit2 (or whatever) next
xc16 next
project name: psinduction (or whatever) finish

To add the files (without learning git, though you probably should at some point), you can just unzip the attachment in this post to disk, then
right click on "source files"
add existing items from folders
"add folder"
browse to /home/p-hack/ACInductionController (or whatever location you unzipped them to)
"add"

to build, click on run -> clean and build.
