The 3 ring caps are shipping now. I repeat! They are shipping to me now! Alert Alert! Emergency reduction! Everything must go. Store closing forever, until next month, when it will re-close.

Hello! That's great to hear!!!

700D10896-348 | 700D Series 600V 1000 uF ±10% Metallized Polypropylene Power Ring Film Capacitor | SBE INC - Future Electronics

The 1600uF 450v would be preferable, but was $300.

Also, I'm monitoring 3 currents, to see how well the current sharing is between the igbts. The dspic allows 4 channels to be sampled simultaneously. The atmega never would have allowed me to know really what all currents were in a given instant.

Also, I've already got code done for a couple buck chargers that used the dspic. Heck, one of them even had a "throttle", for changing the constant current charge rate. The code is very similar to what I need. It will probably take me a few days to modify it to the motor controller.

I finished the gcode for the base plate, and finished drilling one of them. Also, I mounted 3 igbts, and they fit perfectly. Almost no slop at all.

Hi Paul , long time missing from here, were can I find the specs and price of ctl and power bds.1000 amps type.My net is so slow these days that it takes ages to go through the posts.Also are they assembled/populated.
Cheers

As far as I know the 1000a never left the beta stage.. I'm running one, and it works fine but others had lots of trouble with it so I heard

The new "1000 amp" boards will be arriving soon. Evimarn, you could get one of those if you wanted. I had switched to 10 boards instead of 5. I didn't feel too guilty about the $35 from each person based on $175/5, as the $175 was actually for a new setup fee rather than related to the number of boards. You guys don't want to know what it all cost including the boards. LOL. I could solder it for you too if you wanted to pay extra. I'm not sure of the cost of populating it at the moment. I'll have to see, but it's both the control board and drivers in one. I would recommend waiting until it's tested though. haha.

I'm getting close to being done with a complete rewrite of the code. I'm pretty sure there's a bug in the original software for the pwm filter. It tries to take sort of a running average for pwm, but look at this:

pwmAverage = (127*pwmAverage + 1*pwmNewValue)/128

Let's say, for instance, pwmAverage is 10, and pwmNewValue is 20. pwmAverage will never be able to creep toward 20. If the new value of pwm average is 10 < pwmAverage < 11, it will be truncated to 10, and won't ever get to 20.

Hi Paul,
I could look though the code if you would like. Is the source in version controller somewhere public?
Regards,
Sid.
