This weekend I am actually going to make a blower cooling system for my 6.7" ADC motor so I can too drive dirty! I ordered a 170 cfm 12 volt blower off eBay for $26 including shipping and it should be here Friday. It's used to cooling brakes for NASCAR so it should be up to the task. I am then going to make a new grate for the com end of the motor and make a duct to connect the blower to the motor. It should be a real cheap solution and I plan on getting the sheet metal for the new grate from my local ACE Hardware.

Make sure you don't patent what you do, because I'm gon' steal your idea! haha! This is so awesome. I need a blower, but I didn't know how to do it. Then I'll patent it, and then sue you for stealing my idea! hahahahaha! Same size motor and everything. This is very exciting. However, even with the blower I think I'll keep my drag racing to a minimum now that I know that my stupid lovejoy is probably going to break, since I think I used the same one as Benji. Once it's installed, I shall not exceed 150 mph. Especially if the fuzz is around.

Does your lovejoy make a grindy-rattley noise? Mine did. Now it doesn't make any noises.

I am positive the alignment on mine was off. If yours is centered, I'd say not to worry about it!

It sounds nice and quiet. I've been listening to see if it changes. My guess is that eventually some bearings are going to get worn out because there is no way I have it perfectly centered.

I ordered a blower just a couple minutes ago off of ebay. 250 cubic feet per minute! booyaa! The weak link will soon be the controller, because the dang batteries can put out about 2000 amps for 6 seconds at a time. But at least I'll be able to cruise a bit more normally without the motor getting real warm. I need to make the tube and round thing around the end of the motor to funnel the air into it. Now I need to fix the shimmying! dang it!

Also, I bought a 7 plug powerstrip thing so we can add an AC fan to keep the chargers cool. They get pretty warm without one, and I'm sick of bringing in a big dang fan from inside the house each dang time I charge the dang car. Now I just need a fan that will sit right on top of the chargers. That would be so gangster.

Hey, TheSGC, I saw your pictures of the blower and tubes and stuff. This is very exciting, isn't it?! ya! So, your blower is 3 inches in diameter I think (I almost ordered the same one). Do you know if it's hard on the blower to blow all that air into a smaller hole that will actually enter the car's 6.7" motor? Can the air still blow at the 170 cfm? And how about smoothly changing from 3" diameter to maybe 1" diameter rather than a sudden transition to 1". I wonder what the best way is to maximize the CFM?

Or maybe it's like water, where it finds a path as long as there is pressure. I don't know much about minimizing friction losses of fluid flow.

I am going to try out the airflow later today. It should still have the same airflow, but it will be more focused and feel more powerful.

I don't have my sheet metal to make the shell for the motor yet, but I have so many other things to do first. I have to reinstall my control system and get my batteries bolted down before the awful weather arrives.

The blower is now attached. see "attached" pictures. I have become very attached to this blower.

I have a funny feeling that I now have a car that is more TESLA than anything else!!! hahaha!

HEY! That blower looks like the cheap ricer-crap ebay "electric supercharger" kits that so many people got screwed on... worst part was that they were actually marketed by parts companies.

The trick was: Put that thing inline in your air tube, and it will "boost" your incoming air... it actually presented a restriction to airflow in the intake piping though.

Does that mean from china? It seems to blow air pretty well. Anything will be better than what I have been using. The previous setup had broken blades on the "blower" inside of the forklift motor, so there was not much in the way of blowing.
