Imaging 1 or both ducted props getting stuck when rolling or yawing - no more roll control in vertical mode, and nothing to oppose the yaw in forward flight.
It does have some angled ventral strakes though - not clear wether they have any control function or not.

I thought they were fixed landing gear skids, but they may serve as an inverted V-tail.

Since a stock Daihatsu Delta is a cabover, MAYBE this front clip can actually enhance the aerodynamics a little...

If I recall correctly, this is from this month's Car and Driver. Just an odd detail, one we have theorized about before but were never quite sold on as I remember.

Maybe raising and lowering the ball shows speed difference in the center vs up against the wall.
