That doesn't look so unfamiliar at all.

I look at the current Mustang and consider it quite European-ish. Well, let's say I disliked when GM turned the Corvette into a mid-engined model, so I say thank God neither the Camaro or the Mustang would undergo a similar switch to mid-engine.

I'm no big fan of the Mustang but they do make a good A-arm front end.

There's this though: https://www.mustangspecs.com/ford-mu...-concept-cars/

[that web page choked my little Raspberry Pi with it's advertisements. I had to restart Chromium]

It's interesting that the 1975 concept looks almost exactly like the current model, but the concepts from the 80 and 90s look weird.

The original concept was a 1,200lb 90 inch wheelbase chassis with a 1500cc 90hp mid-engine. Sound like a Porsche RSK? IIRC it had 12" wheels.

I like the mid-engine Corvette but was rather puzzled why it didn't have a Cadillac badge allowing GM to keep a front engine Vette. Guess they want to keep the Camaro alive a bit longer.

Not a mid-Stang but a more advanced modern one.

Are you ready for things to get weirder? Our sources on these spy shots are rather confident this is a powertrain test mule, specifically for all-wheel drive.
I'm tickled to death with the 2012 Infiniti G37X Coupe (AWD - Mid/Front Engine) I picked up about 3-weeks ago. Listed for 45K new, a real bargain at 14K now, even with 100,000 miles on it.

Mustang purest don't know what they are missing out on with simple RWD, but my brother a Mustang owner is eager to have an AWD Mustang so he can drive it in the winter.

I don't expect the aerodynamics to get "odd" though.

I'm pretty sure I could still drive RWD in the winter. I got my licence with it on ice, and went off to blast through snow drifts. I've never needed 4WD, nor a tow. One good tip - if you have an automatic transmission, put it in neutral for skid recovery so one end is not fighting the other.

Someone here had a sig line that read "Clutch in, steer only". Good advice on black ice.

kach22i -- That's interesting, a blown pantaloon. It reminds me of Viktor Shauberger's Trout Turbine. Definitely a rear motor.

Not sure why the Corvette retaining the front-engine layout would actually harm Camaro sales.

I must confess it was quite shocking to find out Ford would move away from the rear live-axle to IRS even on basic trims of the Mustang.

This year at Bonneville:

These cars must have superb engines, but I don't think anybody has a wind tunnel.
